Aperçu is french and roughly describes an astute remark.
Colphon describes Aperçu as "a synopsis or amalgamation of classic realist typefaces: Johnston, Gill Sans, Neuzeit & Franklin Gothic".
The typeface has a clean look spiced up with some unique design decisions
like the lowercase g, or the short R bowl, giving the font a unique, slightliy brutalist look.
HK Grotesk was released in 2015 by Hanken Design Co under the SIL Open Font license. An updated version was released in 2021 under the same licence. The font is very similar to Apercu.
Differences Between Apercu and HK Grotesk
Most noticeable differences compared to Apercu are the vertical J-Stroke and the K-Letters, where the diagonal strokes are not pointing to the vertical one but laying on top of another. Also the dots are squared instead of rounded.
